“Along with optimising and achieving great rankings for the website, he has improved the site’s usability and its overall look. He’s always more than happy to help even if it’s going beyond the service he’s providing.”
The Hokey Cokey is a party shop based in Haslemere, Surrey. Founder and Owner of the business, Julie, approached us to support her in marketing the business online.
She wanted to increase its presence online to gain more leads through the website.
The party shop has a great reputation locally in Haslemere, but the aim was to branch out the reach to customers across all of Surrey & Hampshire.
You would be correct to think that the solution is to make the website rank highly on Google. But there was more to consider before achieving page 1 rankings on Google.
Creating new, engaging and optimised website content was our first step. The content was bland with no personality and riddled with spelling mistakes. We could have started looking to rank the site, but we envisaged there would be a high bounce rate due to the poor content quality and structure.
The content itself needed to present The Hokey Cokey’s personality and look appealing to read.
By working with Julie, we got to work on creating new web content, and she was thrilled with the result.
In the process of producing new website copy, we stripped out irrelevant pages to simplify the user journey too.
Before jumping straight in we completed keyword research to identify opportunities for the Hokey Cokey to rank for. We also researched their competitors and backlink opportunities.
After identifying the SEO opportunties, we got to work in optimising the website. We worked on the meta to ensure people were clicking through to the site on Google, whilst optimising product pages and creating landing pages to target other areas.
We also continued to edit the content across the site to improve the usability of the website.
Blogging was an opportunity to create quality content that customers were interested in, whilst enabling our SEO strategy too.
We were able to write blogs about the new seasons, celebrations, events and new products, which could be promoted on their social media.
The Hokey Cokey’s presence grew and they ranked for many search terms across Surrey and Hampshire, which saw a surge of traffic coming to the website and contact form and telephone enquiries.
Working with Tom at TJ Creative has been great. Although I'm utilising their SEO copywriting service. Tom is more than happy to advise me on other aspects of digital marketing. Along with optimising and achieving great rankings for the website, he has improved the site's usability and its overall look. He's always more than happy to help even if it's going beyond the service he's providing. I highly recommend!
