These are tough times we’re all in. There isn’t an industry that hasn’t been affected. But let’s remember – this pandemic will pass and we will beat it.

For business, I won’t sugarcoat it, it’s a real sh*tshow. We’ve all been affected by it personally and commercially.

However, this is not a time to dwell. It’s prime time to get creative and continue marketing your business, service and product.

Prepare for a boom as coronavirus limitations ease

There have been rumours circulating from China that the market is recovering there. This means that once we begin to see lockdown and its limitations ease the market will boom. It may take a while to properly recover, but we can hope to see a positive response.

With this in mind, it makes now a great time to spend your free time at home to get creative.

You can still create valuable content

Now is the time where you will have time to compose blogs, social posts, paid ads, new web pages, new product pages – whatever it is, now is a great time to get creative.

I have to admit, there seems to be a bit of backlash for those ‘looking to sell’ on social media. Ignore the doubters, of course you can market your brand, as long as you’re not profiting from the coronavirus.

What exactly could you get up to?

Blogging

Provide your clients, customers and the general consumer with valuable information. Your service or product may not be related to Covid, but maybe there’s an opportunity for you to offer them some respite from all the stress of Covid?

As an example, I made my novels, DECEPTION and Alive free for a week – encouraging readers to download the book and to take their mind off everything.

Get creative, start writing, and communicate with people.

Vlogging

Video is the now of marketing, and the future. Maybe you’ve always wanted to try video but have never had the time to do it?

Is there now an opportunity for you to give it a go? Well, what better time is there – everyone is at home consuming more content than ever!

Social

This coincides with blogging and video, but it’s important that you’re active now. You can build a name for yourself and form some great relationships.

SEO/PPC

Search marketing can be costly, but you have free time yourself now to learn about it, or to at least start creating new content for your users. New pages for your website, landing pages, paid ads, whatever it is, this is a great opportunity to put the work into your SEO.

Just think, if there was a boom in the market, you would be at the top of Google for everyone to find you!

Of course, if you have any questions about SEO or PPC, I’m more than happy to offer advice (tom@tjcreative.co.uk).

New website

Is there something that you’ve always wanted to change on your website but have struggled to find the time to change it? Here’s your chance.

Professional support may be needed, but the least you could do is have a go at writing some new website content or at least creating a brief or plan for a new website.

Most importantly – use technology, keep communicating

We have technology, so let’s use it to its full potential. You can still build great relationships with people, particularly your consumers and target market.

The market isn’t strong, and its future is unpredictable, but you may be surprised with the business you may win (industry depending) at this time.

The most important thing in all of this – be active online and keep communicating.

Don’t abandon your marketing because of all this – keep going and innovate. Use this as a chance to try different methods.

Stay home, stay positive, get creative!
